Happiness is not something someone else does to you. It is something you create yourself and then share with others. Make happiness your priority and live life to the full. The laughter you generate today, will create improvements in your health tomorrow.
This CD was created, with a very thoughtful purpose. Not only for your amusement, but also to demonstrate and prove that spontaneous laughter really is the best medicine.
All of our instincts tell us laughter is good for us and modern university research agrees (see news below). It has been proven many times, that when you hear laughter, you want to laugh too, and that this can have beneficial effects on your physical state as well as your mental state. When was the last time you had a really good belly laugh?
Have you ever watched a really great comedian in a stand up TV show (Live at the Apollo on TV is a good example) and discovered the wonderful way laughing out loud makes you feel great? Have you ever noticed if there is an argument, or shouting, in another room, how reluctant you are to enter? But, if there is the sound of laughter, you really want to go and see what all the fun is about.
Laughter forms an important part of human non-verbal communication. Relaxed social laughter is associated with feelings of wellbeing and a likely explanation for this might be the release of endorphins. The results of the Oxford study (see news box) show that pain thresholds are significantly higher after laughter than in the control condition. This pain-tolerance effect is due to laughter itself and not simply due to a change in positive affect. This seems to suggest that laughter, through an endorphin-mediated opiate effect, may play a crucial role in social bonding. Other studies have already shown that laughter is 30 times more likely to occur if you are with others than when alone.

What benefits will I get by listening, or joining in with this CD?
Firstly laughter causes an increased blood flow by over 20%. This means every cell of your body is being flooded with at least 20% more oxygen and probably more than that. When you laugh, you take in big gulps of air, because laughter tends to expel all of the air from your lungs. So you empty your lungs of all the CO2 that has built up over time and stays in there diluting the oxygen you breathe in because of shallow breathing. Now you are driving around large quantities of the single most important element there is to your best health and wellbeing. OXYGEN! Nothing heals the body faster than a good supply of oxygen.
On the other hand, people who fail to laugh, to exercise enough, to breathe in a purposeful way, who are suffering because of stress, can find thier blood flow decreases by over 30%. But it's worse than that. Decreased blood flow usually means decreased lymph floo too. Why is that? Because lymph flow relies on movement. Less deep breathing, less oxygen, less energy, less movement, less interest in moving, less interest in breathing, less interest in life all equal more toxicity, less energy and poorer health.
So go on, have a good laugh with this 3 track CD and chuckle your way to health, happiness and wellbeing.
That laughter is such a simple cure for so many ill's is laughable in itself. You can't bottle it and sell it, but you CAN have it on CD, and I present you with The Healing Power of Laughter, your prescription on CD. An interesting concept!
The laughter has been carefully mixed with music and dialogue to fit in with developing the chakra energy centres in the body, to stimulate them, to energize them and to recharge them. Laughter is a great way to generate and process chi-energy, the organizing energy in a balanced mind and body.
So what's on the CD? There are 3 seperate "Sounds of Laughter" tracks on the CD.
Track 1. Healing your Chakras with Laughter and Music: A short relaxing meditation with music, that introduces the chakras one by one, starting at the base chakra, and gives you a chance to envisage each chakra while at the same time listening to the sounds of laughter.
Track 2. Healing with Laughter and Music: No talking on this one, just the laughter with light background music.
Track 3. Just Laughter: Great for group gatherings, office functions, healer groups or childrens parties.
The quality of your life is in direct proportion to the quantity and quality of laughter you can create every day.
Create an unstoppable healing response in your body, your mind and in your spirit.
I am convinced of one thing, there is so much more to discover about the benefits and effects of laughter. I'm equally convinced all of them will be good. Go on, give yourself the chance to prove - Laughter really is the best medicine!

1.) Proceedings of the Royal Society B published an article in the Sept-2011 issue entitled: Social laughter is correlated with an elevated pain threshold.
free abstract of article
An international research team, led by Oxford University, found that when we laugh properly, with a good belly laugh, as opposed to a polite titter, the physical exertion leaves us exhausted and thereby triggers the release of protective endorphins. These endorphins, one of the complex neuropeptide chemicals produced in the brain, manage pain and promote feelings of well being. These findings conclude a 10 year study.
2.) Laughter Can Help Agitation in Dementia Sufferers

Age-related dementia is a cruel disease that gradually steals the mind of our loved ones to the point where they can become forgetful, confused, lose understanding and the use of language, lack judgement and display aggressive behaviours. The drugs used to relieve behavioural symptoms are often referred to as anti-psychotics.
Now, a group of Australian researchers have discoved that humour therapy is as effective as widely used anti-psychotic drugs in managing agitation in patients with dementia - and therefore avoids serious drug side effects. This study of the impact of humour therapy on mood, agitation, behavioural disturbances and social engagement in dementia patients found both a short term and persisting decrease in agitation. The researchers found that humour therapy reduced agitation by 20 per cent, on average, an improvement that is comparable to the commonly used anti-psychotic drugs. In a follow-up at 26 weeks after the end of the humour therapy period, the researchers found that agitation remained at an improved level.
Phil's comment on this study: If someone in your family is suffering from dementia related agitation, why not try this laughter CD first, before the doctor gets out his prescription pad? It'll be better for you and infinitely better for them.
3.) Other studies have also shown that a good belly-laugh stimulates the release of feel-good endorphins, which also reduce pain, pacify stress hormones, enhance the immune system, and help control blood pressure.
